Worst Game Live Blog Ever
Well, since Interchangeable Parts has to work tonight, I will have nowhere to complain about the game. (Bethany is mobile, so I can't even complain to her!) I guess I will just have to yell at the television and randomly post thoughts about this final game.
19:51 Damn! Roy scores nine seconds in! Can't really blame Emery there since he hasn't seen any shots on goal since they played New Jersey. So Buffalo has just been lulling them into a false sense of security these past three games! Good plan!
16:41 No wait...the Sens are back. Okay, phew. They are all methed up again.
15:59 Phew that was close!
15:38 Okay I have lost interest in this whole liveblogging thing. I don't know how Liz and Eleanor do it! How do you watch and type at the same time? I guess since there are two of you it is a little easier?
15:00 Oh good Bethany is online...now we can chat
14:44 Uh oh ..second ottawa power play...this can't end well
12:35 I need a commercial...oooh Versus read my mind...time for a beverage!
12:35 Crap! Busy chatting with Bethany and I forgot to get a beverage!
11:41 almost a wraparound...nice pressure on emery there
10:41 Are they gonna review that?
What the hell is wrong with Heatley's hat in this segment? WTF?
(lots of time passes..........)
End 2nd Yeah okay I give up...I am too tired and not nearly witty enough for this sort of grueling work...catch ya over at Interchangeable Parts!

Argh! Everyone is out of my socks!
You are looking at the world's most comfortable socks...Patagonia Lightweight Endurance Quarter Socks. I wear a size medium in fog/charcoal heather. I ordered the blue but it is a bit snug at the cuff...and they have white, but I am not wearing white socks. Nobody has charcoal in stock until mid June. I only have two pairs! I am doing laundry every day so I can wear them.
Before I met these socks, the first thing I would do at the end of my workday is take off my shoes and socks. However, these socks are so damn comfy that I leave them on after I take my shoes off. Yesterday, I wore them until it was time to go to bed! Even when it is 80 degrees outside, your feet are comfy and cool. I love them a lot!
If you see them online anywhere let me know so I can buy them. Yes, I understand this is a hockey blog, and not www.socksblog.com, but these are honestly the best socks ever!!!!!

Pensblog = spittake funny
I am sure you are familiar with the Pensblog. It has been on my bloglist for a while but I only started reading it regularly about a month ago. This blog is almost as funny as SportSquee, but much more offensive. You need to make sure you are not drinking anything while reading either of these blogs, as sudden fits of laughter may cause you to have juice come squirting out of your nose, which as we all know is a fairly painful predicament.
As a professional blog reader, I make it the third blog I read every day. (Number one and two, you know who you are, but I didn't want to make others jealous.) (Although calling you number one and number two makes me think I need to go to the bathroom...)
The best part of the Pensblog: endless use of the words "jobber", "owned", "stunned", and my personal favorite: "tucked in shirt = homo" under any picture of Jagr.
Don't say I didn't warn you about possible spit-takes and juice spurting out of your nose!

What to do?
Okay, I have myself a ticket for a Hershey Bears/Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins playoff game for Friday night. But game 5 of the Buffalo/Rangers game is on Friday night. (According to my calculations, it should have been on tonight, but don't ever try to figure out the NHL's system for scheduling these damn games.)
So what should I do? Make the 90 minute drive to Hershey, or sit on my ass on the couch for what will probably be a great game?
Pros of staying home: I can drink margaritas, I don't have to drive, I don't have to see Bears fans
Pros of going to Hershey: first in person game since April 15th, arena is nice, good food, potential to see some fights
I guess I will have to see how lazy I am feeling tomorrow!

Snap shot free since 93 (that's the only year that rhymes)
I want to appreciate all my fellow bloggers who have chosen not to enable those little "snap shot" pop up thingys on your blogs. At first, they seem really cool and what a cute idea! but they really just slow down the blog reading process. I don't need little things to pop up as I am scrolling down the page, and when I scroll over a link to read the address in my status bar, that little window that pops up is sooooo annoying.
Just keep kickin' it old school ladies!
And those of you who I may have offended with my little rant, it is not too late to just take it off your blog...we may not even remember that you had it!

Who can pick playoff winners better...me or a paper bag?
After my outstanding results in Caps Chick's playoff pool, I wondered if picks chosen randomly would fare better than my own well researched and thought out picks. So earlier in the week, I put some teams in a hat and here are the results:
(I decided that since I was going random, I would put pieces of paper numbered 4 through 7 and pick the number of games it would take for the win.)
My actual picks (sans number of games, because that is too complex for me):
I have a feeling that paper bag is going to fare a lot better than my personal picks.
New York Rangers in seven
Anaheim Ducks in six
San Jose Sharks in five
Ottawa Senators in five

Columbus, anyone?
So I just found out that this year's entry draft is being held in Columbus, Ohio on June 22nd and 23rd. Why has Bethany not mentioned this? I know it is not that exciting to see the guys get drafted, but I think they have the awards ceremony the day before, so there may be real hockey players in the city as well. Anyone interested in a roadtrip to the lovely city of Columbus?
Here is info on how to get tickets and where to stay...

I didn't want to reveal this but...
You leave me no choice but to reveal my true reasons for rooting for the Sabres.
Teams I cheer for generally lose. I was not a Flyers fan until the end of the 2005-2006 season...they choked big in the playoffs. I bought a gameplan for this year...worst record in history. Before my affair with hockey, I had a brief fling with Phillies baseball...they sucked too.
So see Margee, by cheering for Buffalo, I was ensuring an Islanders win.
But now that I revealed my secret, I dunno if it will work.
