I was worried about my last post about the Flyers messenger bag. I remembered that I had a similar post last year about some custom Converse in orange and black. I was concerned that my off season activities were way ahead of last year...however, as you can see from the screen shot below, the Flyers gear posts were almost exactly one year apart. Weird.
I'm not sure what it all means, other than that I am a bored Flyers-less hockey blogger. When is rookie camp?

That is too funny!
ReplyDeleteDid you know you could customize Reebok sneakers too(http://www.rbkcustom.com/content.html)? and you can even have the team logo on 'em. Our roommate found that a while ago. Ah, the lengths we have to go entertain ourselves in the offseason. Siiigh.
Almost one year apart exactly...that's so bizarre! Well, like all girls, we must turn to shopping to console ourselves in times of sadness. Or total boredom.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Soph! Now I am going to have to get some custom reeboks too. Although it has been a very long time since I have worn reeboks...
ReplyDeleteThey aren't too bad, granted they aren't as cool as chucks.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be so custom Flyer-ed out by the end of the off season, it'll be crazy.
I think it's more like all dorked out!
ReplyDeleteHey, I think all that stuff is pretty sweet!
ReplyDeleteHa, I made myself some Flyers-esque Chucks online too. But alas, I was too worried about the social stigma to actually buy them!
ReplyDeleteKristin, I'm very strongly considering ordering a very similar looking pair of Chucks... 'cept I'm thinking they would have "VENGEANCE" on the side
ReplyDeleteOkay, well someone's gotta buy some custom sneakers! Who's it gonna be? I just ordered by custom bag from reload, so I've done my part!
ReplyDeleteAnd Soph, congrats on the pickup from puck daddy...did you see it?
Wait, what? No I did not... What's that?

ReplyDeletecheck it out jess and soph...
Kristin, we'd be lost without you!
ReplyDeleteKristin,
ReplyDeleteI did my part--I ordered my custom Flyers Chucks today. Can't wait until they come in!
I want those chucks. They're amazing. What's the link where I can make those?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.converse.com/#CATEGORYC1
ReplyDeleteor just go to to converse.com and click on the link at the bottom...I think there is a thumbprint icon...
Grr. Orange is only an option for the lining, not the tongue or outside of the shoe. That annoys me. It also won't let me get the personal id of Kmart because apparently that's a registered trademark or something like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the color "Grenadine"?
ReplyDeleteThe personal id thing was really annoying though...
The Grenadine looked too red. So I'm hesitant to buy them.
ReplyDeleteI liked the grenadine too, and I really want the Jack Purcells. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and order them with the grenadine, so we'll all know if it is orange or red.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know how converse sizes run? Small? Large? True to size?
Hmm, that's weird that they took away orange as an option, since it was available last year. (I have the picture to prove it!) Clearly, there is some sort of anti-Flyers sentiment in the Converse organization!
ReplyDeleteWell, I ordered the grenadine ones... So, I'll let you guys know when they come in (in like 4-6 weeks... boo to waiting).
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of old regular chucks that are orange and they seemed to be more neon and yellowish orange (more like the Sharks' orange) and the grenadine (at least on my computer) seems to be close to the orange on Gator's jersey from my wallpaper.
Kristin, converse's run in men sizes. I'm normally an 8.5 - 9 (women's) and I'm a size 7 converse. I'm sure they have a sizing guide on their page somewhere...
That is strange that they changed the colors. Clearly they are anti-my favorite teams as they don't have a teal option either!
When you go to custom make them, it has you select your normal size, and it will choose your Converse size for you.
ReplyDeleteWell said.
ReplyDeleteThis is great info to know.
