I would like to take a moment to apologize to the handful of Habs fans at the game last night. Even before the game started, some Flyers fans were acting like real assholes towards you. This was not the good natured ribbing I'm used to seeing. These Flyers fans were yelling at a girl in a Habs jersey and calling her a scumbag and then throwing stuff at her and her seatmates. All this while her and her seatmates just sat there watching warmups. That's kind of uncalled for.
After the game though, all bets were off....if I were a Habs fan, I would have asked for an escort out of the building!

That five minute penalty was crazy! And then the subsequent call on Kukkonen? No wonder they had like no shots in the third period, they spent seven out of twenty minutes on the PK! I'm surprised the referees got out safely after the game!

ReplyDeletei will say though Krisitn you sound like my ideal seatmate. i hate seatmates who talk to me during game play. that's what intermission and post-game beers are for.
You couldn't have paid me to be wearing a Habs jersey yesterday and have the "Asshole" chant follow me during intermissions. I think that chant should only be applicable to the refs and only the most obnoxious of away fans.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it was only our section, but I was getting annoyed by the booing when Danny asked the fans to be respectful of the national anthems AND the booing of the Canadian national anthem AND the USA chant. How many of the Flyers are American? And how many Canadiens are Canadians?
the reffing was disgusting last game. 9 powerplays for 1 team is uncalled for in a playoff game. i can't actually watch the games (freaking comcast blacks games out in state college because its a pittsburgh market? i dunno just one more reason to hate the pens) but from what i was hearing, many of the calls were very very weak. its a good thing the flyers biron is so hot... but it's not a coincidence that the flyers have had a 5 on 3 against them in every single game of the playoffs so far...
