Why are there no other Flyers blogs?

I know I am really opening the door for a lot of jokes to be made about the Flyers and their fans, but really, why can't I find any Flyers blogs? Sure there are a few, but none that post with any regularity. There aren't even any Flyers-centric blogs on Flyers Fan Central, a psuedo blog that seems mildly corporate/propaganda-ish and for the months of March April and May had a combined 11 posts. Wow.

I mean, there are a ton of Caps blogs, Pens blogs and even Ducks blogs. But no Flyers blogs? What is up with that?

  1. Ice Wizards! (icewizards.wordpress.com)- it is an NHL blog that is biased towards the Flyers. They are the only team with there own tag, lol

  2. Hey, when I see the Flyers actually play, I may well blog them. (yes, they started me on hockey as of playoff season, so I have never actually seen the Flyers play.)

Just because Army's the Rink Rash header.....

  3. Come to think of it, I can't think of any other Flyers blogs either...and while I certainly can't promise much on the actually blogging front (Elly will kill me), you can rest assured I'll be watching my Jason next year....sigh....

  4. I know, the Pens fans have a higher literacy level than Flyers fans. What is up with that?

  5. Jordi, it seems weird that the Pens fans would have a higher literacy level...I've lived in Pittsburgh and they don't seem that much smarter than Philadelphians!

Steph, I am glad to see that the additions we've made will get some non-Flyers fans to watch!

Teka, is your obsession with hockey even newer than mine? I have only had this obsession for 525 days! I thought I was the baby of this family!

And Danny, you better get busy...you've got a lot of Flyers blogging to do!

  6. LOL! Flyers? What about Coyotes... we can't even get our official website to write about us... how rough is that? :)

  7. Tracy, that is definitely sad. Especially since Phoenix now has a bigger population than Philly...does that make you a big market team?

  8. Nope, I'm the baby... April 15 was the first game I remember being sat down and told to watch, as it was Armstrong breaking Eaves' will to live, hence the Army fixation.

My journal backs me up, as on April 16 I am lamenting the fact that they got me stared on hockey.

    I WINZORS!

  9. Wow that is great! I was sick of being the newbie!

Plus, this means you can be converted to a Flyers fan!

  10. 11 posts yeah, there are reasons for that mostly personal. Working full time, taking classes almost full time and recovering from surgery. Those are the main reasons. The Flyers not making the playoffs and ending up being the worst Flyers team, EVER is another one. That is why the very few Flyers blogs dried up quickly last season. Had a guy last year that wanted to blog on FFC, but when the season started downhill, he quickly disappeared. If anyone is interested in blogging on FFC, that would be great. Instead of having just me complain about everything. :)
There was only a few other fan based Flyers blogs that I knew of last season and they pretty much stopped posting by November or so. Watching many of the games were painful enough even with pleny of ‘adult’ beverage.
http://mvn.com/nhl-flyers/ - Clarkes Boys is one had very few updates last year.
http://www.pennlive.com/weblogs/flyers/ - Bullies Blog is another.
Hopefully they will be more active when the season starts.
There are a few others blogs that are more media based liked Panaccio over at HockeyBuzz that are pretty decent.
Corporate/propagandish? I am just trying to find and list resources that might interest Flyers fans. There are some really good Flyers discussion boards and sites that I haven’t found until recent. And it’s not that I haven't been looking. I want the site to be more than just me complaining about how slow Hatcher is or how they are playing without heart, again. Hopefully this year there won't be too much of that.
Think I will add a section on the site specifically for Flyers blogs soon. Eager to go psycho, great name hope he does good this year I like the type of energy Ben brings.
