It's been awhile since we've had our gator fix...

  1. Y'know a Gator a day keeps the doctor away...

  2. Gator, you don't have a wife, silly. You're a brooding single dad, remember?

As a sidenote, how can someone play with TWO separated shoulders?! Gator's a god amongst men!

  3. I was pretty unhappy with Gator all season... until I learned that he played with two dislocated shoulders during the playoffs. You gotta respect that. Now I'm sad that he's probably going to finish his career a Devil. Though if we get Brian Campbell I think I'll be able to cope.

  4. Yeah k, I was pretty unhappy with him for most of the season as well. He started off great, and then became a bit of a liability.

I don't think Homer will get us Soupy to make up for losing Gator. I'm not sure who he will get, but I don't think it will be Campbell...

  5. It's just what I've been reading in papers the past two days. The names that have been floating around are Streit from Montreal and Campbell. I'm holding onto the hope that we can pick up Campbell

  6. Personally, I'm a little skeptical about Campbell, after seeing his lackluster playoff with the Sharks. Granted, I think he was injured, but he seems like kind of a one-trick pony with that spin-a-rama move he tries constantly.

I think I'm also irked at the prospect of a red-head in orange. As a red-head myself, I have to veto that aesthetic move immediately! ;)

  7. Are we that sure that Gator's out of here? Is there some chance that he stays?

  8. k, I am terrible at reading actual news sources. What do you read and can I get it online?

Jess, I agree that Soupy would look bad in the orange and black. Teal didn't really suit him either!

As far as Gator staying or going, who knows? I think they would have ditched him at the deadline if they could have found a taker. Maybe if we keep our Gator shrines up as long as possible, and pray to the hockey gods, he will still be here. Actually, I'm okay if he leaves, I just don't want him to be a Devil!!!

  9. Kristin, I'll be sure not to mess around with my Gator wallpaper--we know what can happen when you change that!

  10. Kristin, check out the Flyers team page on Yahoo! Sports. They have a team report or something, and it talks about the possibilities a little there. The other two articles I read were in my local paper, the Intelligencer, and I'm not sure that they actually have a website.

  11. Also, Soph, I really don't think his chances of returning are good. Everything I've read points to The Hatch Attack and Gator leaving. Holmgren wants more speed and durability on the blue line (can't blame him). So it's likely that we're going to see Kimo/Coburn, Parent/Jones(gag) and possibly either Streit or Campbell like I said earlier and one of Modry, Kukkonen, Hatch or Gator. Though I would bet on it being Kukkonen that stays.

  12. But Campbell? Really? I can't stand him and I really don't want him to leave my western team only to go to my eastern conference team.

Although, Gator, if you have to go, will you please think of being a Sharkie instead of possibly a Devil? They need a gritty veteran who'll stick up for the other guys, because, although I love them, they can be are walked on more than your average doormat.

The offseason makes me too nervous...

  13. K-Mart, is Hatcher a free agent, or are you hearing that he'll be traded? For some reason, I thought he was still under contract...

Believe it or not, Soph, I agree with you that Gator would make a fabulous Shark... ;) (If he leaves the Flyers, of course.)

  14. He's still under contract, but from what I've been hearing he may be released or put on waivers or retire or something. I would like him to finish out the contract, and then retire a Flyer.

  15. Ohhhh, okay. Well, Hatcher's got a Cup ring, which is experience that a team could always use! Hopefully, he'll stick around a little longer, just so long as he's not tumbling onto his teammates anymore! (I'm sure Joffrey Lupul would appreciate that! ;))

  16. if we're gonna a get a defenseman, why overpay for campbell? we could probably get better performance for cheaper with john-michael liles.
