(This is me kicking Iceburgh mercilessly!) I'm probably more excited than I should be about heading to the ECF against the Pens. Nah. I know that no matter what the outcome is, several things will happen:
* I will hate Sidney Crosby more than I do today, and that makes me happy!
* This is going to be a series for the ages
* Someone could get killed! This thing is going to be bloody for sure!
* I will get to explore my new found dislike of Pens fans. I never really had a problem with them until I went to the Igloo. The growing arrogance of the Pens fans over the last few weeks has really started to irritate me, and with as much as they hate Flyers fans, this should be a lot of fun. Heh.
* I am going to have fun with my stuffed Iceburgh. I feel kinda bad for him, since he never stops smiling no matter how much I abuse him. Oh well, sucks to be him!

This is getting a little ahead of course, but the Flyers shouldn't be anything more than a bump for the Pens and that leaves only a strong Western team to overcome for this eminently watchable young group.

ReplyDeletehey, the flyers have been underestimated all postseason. lets hope the trend continues. montreal is just sore over the fact we beat their asses down.
I predict several season ending injuries and which ever team wins the West will win the Cup b/c neither the Pens nor the Flyers will be able to dress enough players and be forced to forfeit the series!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain with the schedule. I start a two week vacation on Saturday in a very unhockey friendly locale, so I might not see ANY games after that. :( I didn't expect us to be still playing so late in the season, but I'm not complianing.

ReplyDeleteYeah Steve, I don't think many of us expected to be playing this late in the season! And after seeing last night's 17 OT Stars/Sharks game, the West might be in rough shape too by the time they get to the Final!

Philly fans, gotta love them. this series won't be a bloodbath, because everytime that moron Hartnell takes a run at Sid or Malkin, the Pens are gonna score. the powerplay is deadly and the Flyers think (wrongly) they can play the up and down game with Pittsburgh. they can't. Pens in 5.

Richards punks out crosby, stick kimmo and coburn on malkin just like they did ovechkin, and have RJ FUCKING UMBERGER destroy the pens like he ripped thier colons all season.

Yeah, it was a big bummer to see the Sharks ousted, but they went further than we thought they would after going down 3-0. It was problematic, though, that Soph and I had a term paper/final to do for today... Those four overtimes weren't doing us any favors!

I am not a Flyers fan but am rooting for them to kick Cindy's butt and beat the stinky Pitts. Where was Hatcher and company? No punishing hits? Has the league sent out a memo that touching Crosby is not allowed and we are giving the Cup to them automatically?
